The Man From Earth
Tuesday, July 29th, 2008The Man From Earth was the last work by Jerome Bixby, writer of of episodes of The Twilight Zone, the original Star Trek and the motion picture Fantastic Voyage. War of the Worlds
Sunday, July 27th, 2008This year marks the 30th anniversary of the release of Jeff Wayne’s War of the Worlds, an all-star musical retelling of the H.G.Wells classic, narrated by Richard Burton and featuring the musical talents of Justin Hayward, David Essex, Julie Covington and others. This album has aged very well over the years, and has acquired a bit of a cult following, spawning a video game (which was fun, albeit one-sided), videos and a continuing concert tour. A CGI animated film is also in the works. If you’ve never heard of it, you owe it to yourself to visit the official website and learn more. And while you are there, let them know that you’d like to see an NTSC release of the live performance DVD which, as you can see from the clip below, looks to be a real treat.
